Product Development

We provide innovative design concepts based on the clients objectives, technology, functional and ergonomic requirements. Concepts include development of size, shape, preliminary components and material selection integrated with results of the industrial design phase. We present and discuss the concepts, revising as-needed to establish a preferred design direction. 

We review, analyze and resolve any mechanical / functional requirements and issues, providing solutions which will integrate into the evolving design configuration. With knowledge of a wide range of production processes we can evaluate and select the most cost effective and appropriate components, materials and processes for the product.

We review and document all specified components as the basis for the design layout. From the preferred concept direction we create a CAD layout including as-tooled models as the basis for detailed drawings and fabrication.  We finalize material specifications and process selection, sourcing components and addressing issues of fit, finish, assembly and fastening. Assembly models will be presented for review and approval.  

By utilizing rapid prototyping and our affiliated group of fabricators, we can provide expedited precision prototypes components directly from our CAD database and detailed documentation.  Processes include 3D-Printing, CNC machining, sheet-metal and prototype modelmaking.

Our experience in sourcing and selecting production vendors allow us to identify the best partners for producing the final design. We frequently work with machine shops, sheet-metal fabricators, plastic molders and contract manufactures both domestic and off-shore.

We provide final detailed documentation in native and export CAD formats.  Complete solid model database and critical-to-function or fully dimensioned drawings meeting ANSI, ISO or FDA standards.
